4Lyfe Vol.3 Carolina Dope is my 3rd album. I should have named this album South Carolina Dope or Orangeburg Dope, because I dont know shit about North Carolina. Several tracks should have been on 4Lyfe Vol.2. That didnt happen because of the tracks I made in Tampa. Though the album title anchors its heart in the soil of the Carolinas’, its reach extends far beyond the cypress and sweet tea. Bonnette treats the regional experience not as a limit, but as a crucible—distilling pain and pride into an essential human truth. The album moves with a nomadic spirit, sounding just as appropriate echoing through a Brooklyn basement as it does rattling the windows of a Charleston shotgun house.
